The kinds of rises RISEN is built for

Journeys Worth Remembering

These are the kinds of stories RISEN was made to hold. Quiet, meaningful, and entirely your own. What would yours look like?

Healing this body properly

Rising as someone recovering well

Why this Rise matters

"I've been injured for months and I keep waiting to feel better without actually doing anything differently. I want to document what it looks like to genuinely try: the food, the movement, the sunlight, all of it."

The beginning

On 4 July 2026, my wife said: 'You haven't been taking care of yourself lately.' She was right. I didn't argue. I opened RISEN that night and wrote one sentence: I'm going to try differently. That was the beginning.

Week two I started eating things that were actually supposed to help. Less processed, more real. Got outside in the morning a few times. Felt something shift.

Then work got heavy. Three days went by where I didn't move, didn't think about it, ordered food I shouldn't have. Didn't log anything. Didn't want to.

My wife noticed again. Not in a harsh way, just: 'We haven't been doing the walks.' That 'we' meant everything.

Day 40: two full weeks of almost no processed food. I wrote it down. First milestone. Felt real.

No Sugar. Just Me.

Rising as a sugar-free life

Why this Rise matters

"I've tried before. This time I want to actually document what it feels like: the cravings, the wins, the days I almost gave in. I want to look back and see the whole story, not just the result."

The beginning

On 14 July 2026, I decided I was done letting sugar be the thing I always said I'd deal with later. I didn't tell anyone. I just opened RISEN and started. That first entry was three sentences. That was enough.

Raising Zara

Rising as a present father

Why this Rise matters

"She's growing so fast. I don't want to just remember the big moments. I want to remember the ordinary ones too. The way she laughs at nothing. The questions she asks in the car."

The beginning

On 7 July 2026, Zara did something that made me laugh so hard I nearly cried. I opened RISEN that evening and wrote it down. I've written something almost every week since.

Trip to Oman

Rising as family legacy

Why this Rise matters

"Enjoy more and experience other places with my family."

The beginning

On 24 July 2026, I began documenting our trip to Oman. This marked the first step of our family journey. I wanted to preserve something meaningful for generations to come. First milestone recorded on 7 August: Oman was great.

Running my first 5K at 44

Rising as a runner

Why this Rise matters

"I've never been a runner. I've always said that. This Rise is me finding out if that's actually true or just a story I've been telling myself."

The beginning

On 21 July 2026, I ran for 8 minutes without stopping. I nearly didn't log it because it felt too small. Then I remembered: that's exactly what this is for.

My first garden. From nothing.

Rising as a grower

Why this Rise matters

"I've always wanted a garden but I've always lived in flats. We finally have a small patch of dirt. I want to document what I learn, and what grows."

The beginning

On 4 August 2026, I planted four tomato seedlings and had no idea what I was doing. I took a photo and wrote: 'Day 1. They look fragile. So do I.'

More family time

Rising as a present parent

Why this Rise matters

"Work keeps taking over. I want to be more intentional about the time I actually spend with my kids. Not just being in the same room, but actually being there."

The beginning

On 10 July 2026, I wrote my first entry. The kids were asleep. I sat there and realised I couldn't remember what we'd talked about at dinner. That was the moment I decided to start paying attention differently.
